What a day. It’s the day. The day we remember with deep sadness. The day our minds rush back to the stillness of a hospital room. The day our memories are filled with trauma. The day we try our hardest to find joy in the darkness that is swirling around us.

The anniversary of your loved one's death.
I am desperate for joy. For her joy. The joy that my sister carried with her daily. This was a joy that surpassed her circumstances. It marched through exhaustion and frustration. It was always victorious in her life. And, it embraced everyone around her.
Why must I need my loved one in order to be joyful?
Although painful, one step to healing from grief is to spend time in deep reflection on what you long for the most from your loved one. It is an experience that brings freedom. Our shortcomings are exposed and we become realigned with who we want to be. (If you're ready to go even deeper into healing from loss, download my free Bible Study here.)
Every season of life is different and will bring with it new longings and fresh gaps in your personality.
What characteristic of your loved one are you longing for the most right now? What steps can you take to grow that trait into your own being?
Take heart, God makes a way when there is no way.
Praying healing over you,
Laura
