Disclaimer: This is a raw journal entry during my sister, Allison’s, journey toward Heaven. She died on March 13, 2015. This is not meant to be dark. Rather, may it provide comfort and connection for those who have also experienced a deep loss like mine.

Discouraging news about my dear sister: if the MRI next week shows tumor growth, the Doctor says we might think about Hospice. His said the medicine is not helping.
We need a miracle. Jesus said in the book of John, “Human effort is useless.” Although, He was referring to Eternal Life… so, nevermind!
Help me to think of things that are True and Trustworthy! Help me to only think about Your Word regarding Allison.
Hampton (my husband) and I are starting to join together every morning in agreement for Allison. God, speak to both of us daily on what to pray for. God, thank You for him. He said, “We are married and we are going to get through this together.” Praise You, Lord, for such a man. I am so loved and cared for. God, You are mighty.
Ethan (my 4-year-old) told me yesterday as I cried, “It’s ok, Mommy. She will be better soon.”
What is the only sound and true thing we have? God’s Word!
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8
We must take captive every thought that exalts itself over the knowledge of God. 2 Corinthians 10:5
Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Psalm 27:13-14
Listen to me, descendants of Jacob, all you who remain in Israel. I have cared for you since you were born. Yes, I carried you before you were born. I will be your God throughout your lifetime – until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you. Isaiah 46:3-4
